Cash for clunkers is the perfect example of the stupidity of politicians.
Where they’re doing the exact opposite of what we need to do.
What this bid does is it pays to destroy assets that we already own, that are fully paid for and where there is no debt.
We’re going to destroy that asset, a working car, and we’re going to encourage an american to take an additional debt, to now have car’s payment, to borrow more money, to buy a car he didn’t need, and that he couldn’t afford.

You remember the Seinfeld episode where George Costanza was gonna do the opposite.
The only way we ever gonna have any economic growth is when everybody in Washington, everytime they think of something, everytime they want to enact a program, they gotta stop, figure out what’s the exact opposite of that program is, and then enact that.

That’s the only way we’re ever gonna have any real prosperity in this country.
